6. The Great Pumpkin Fest at Kings Dominion, Doswell, VA
No trip to Kings Dominion theme park is complete this October without a stop by the Great Pumpkin Fest. Open every weekend in October, the Great Pumpkin Fest offers family-friendly events from 12-5 p.m., including a petting zoo and pumpkin painting patch. Stay late for the Halloween Haunt, one of the «most immersive haunted attractions in the Mid-Atlantic region.»
7. Hunt Club Farm, Virginia Beach, VA
Hunt Club Farm is a Tidewater favorite. Stop by the petting zoo on your way to the huge pumpkin patch. Pick out your favorite future jack-o-lantern. Enjoy the live music in the barn before climbing the giant haystack. Come back at night for the Haunted Hayride and Field of Screams attractions.
8. Hickory Ridge Farm, Chesapeake, VA
Hickory Ridge Farm is as known for their wonderful pumpkin patch as they are for their impressive corn maze. For the more frugal amongst us, Hickory Farm offers a wonderful fall experience without many frills. Pick your pumpkin right from the vine and pay by the pound.
9. Pumpkin Village Fall Fest, Leesburg, VA
The Pumpkin Village Fall Fest in Leesburg is open longer than most other pumpkin patches, going all the way into November. Not only do they have the pumpkin patch and wagon rides, but also giant hill slides, moon bounces, and camel rides. Exotic animals, including lemurs, African cats, and tortoises are on display, too.
10. Marker Miller Orchards Pumpkin Festival, Winchester, VA
The Marker-Miller Pumpkin Festival dares you to «come find the great pumpkin!» Their bakery offers all kinds of delicious pumpkin treats, including pumpkin pie, rolls, bars, and donuts. Wagon rides are available throughout the grounds, but the huge pumpkin patch is the real treat.
